What sort of gear do you hire?
We hire acoustic recorders, bat detectors, cameras and various other electronic survey equipment and accessories:
- Song Meter Mini acoustic recorder
- Anabat swift bat detector
- Chorus acoustic recorder and bat detector
- Reconyx camera (white flash and covert IR flash models)
- Bushnell Aggressor camera (covert IR)
- Radio-tracking receiver and antennae
- Infrared video cameras for bat emergence surveys (e.g. caves, bridges and culverts)
- Iridium Extreme satellite phone
- Nest box inspection camera (wifi)
- Moultrie Picture viewer
- Bait containers
- Python locks
What hire dates should I enter?
Enter the dates that you require the gear and we will see that it gets there on time. Be sure to include enough time to download and pack the gear for return. Return the gear the day after your hire end date so that we can get it checked and set up for the next hire. For locations outside of NSW, we will need to confirm shipping times once you make your booking.
Will the gear be reliable?
Ecology field work is always a challenge. We aim to minimise the risk of equipment failure by ensuring that our gear is:
- well maintained
- well packed in sturdy carry cases
- updated to the latest firmware
- fully checked prior to hire
- set up to your preferred settings and specifications
Do I need batteries or memory cards?
Sometimes, please check the item description.
We try to supply most of the things that you will need to use our equipment including high quality SD cards and rechargeable batteries for most of our gear.
We hope to save you money by not having to buy the numerous expensive lithium batteries required by camera traps, save you time by not having to charge them all and also reduce waste to our environment.
However, you WILL need to supply batteries to some items such as acoustic recorders and bat detectors. Also if you are setting equipment out for long periods, you might need extra SD cards. So please check the item descriptions to see what is included in the hire.
What are your terms and conditions?
Our full terms and conditions are listed when you reach checkout and they will need to be agreed to prior to hire. But here's the key things:
- equipment insurance, loss and damage are the customers' responsibility;
- hire price excludes GST and is per week;
- hire includes shipping to the customer;
- the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost
What is your cancellation policy?
We try to be flexible as we know field work dates often change.
Cancel or change your booking more than 2 weeks before pickup date FREE. 1 week hire fee will be charged for bookings cancelled within 2 weeks of the pickup date.
